Privacy Policy

We keep this simple: we collect what we need to help you find real-life experiences, and nothing we don't.

What we collect

• Account details — email, name, and sign-in info (including from Google if you use it).
• Your activity — experiences you save and mark as attended.
• What you tell us — interests, city and plans you type for recommendations; waitlist and host application forms.
• Host content — host profiles and experience listings.
• Technical data — basic logs needed to run and secure the site.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show your saved and attended experiences.
• To generate personal picks. To do this, relevant details are sent to an AI service that processes them on our behalf and doesn't keep them for training.
• To publish host pages and listings.
• To email you about the waitlist or your account.

Legal basis

We process data to provide the service you asked for (contract), with your consent (e.g. waitlist), and for our legitimate interest in keeping OOLALA safe and working.

Sharing

We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run OOLALA (hosting, database, authentication, AI recommendations), or when the law requires it. Host profiles and published listings are public.

How long we keep it

As long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we must keep it by law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict processing. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Cookies

We only use what's needed to keep you signed in. No advertising trackers.
